Tis the Season!

Even though you will hear lots of chatter this time of year about the market-

’Things are so slow!’

‘I can’t wait until Spring when the market heats up!’

‘I am going to wait until at least March before I really start looking for a house, that’s when I will get the best deal’…………

The reality is, this is actually a GREAT time to purchase! Yes, there is less inventory this time of year, but there are also fewer buyers out pounding the pavement, which means a lot less competition for your dream home! Every year for the 14 years I have been a Realtor, November – February have been super strong months for buyers. And every year, those buyers that DO continue to search and ultimately purchase over the winter are very happy they decided to move forward.

My clients that were on the fence at the end of the Summer because they just couldn’t find what they wanted in the Spring rush, have time to really relax, think about what they want in a home and really hone in on the neighborhoods and areas they want to be in. They are pleasantly surprised at the fact there ARE homes that are a good fit for what they are looking for and they are even more pleasantly surprised at some of the deals that are out there! We have seen some amazing price reductions on homes that were on the market at much higher price points during the Spring/Summer, that have been reduced to prices that are more in line with what my buyers were hoping to spend.

Even though it seems counter-intuitive to what you may have heard and have been conditioned to believe, don’t delay your home search until Spring! There are many wonderful homes on the market now, and you can beat the Spring crowd- and take advantage of the lower interest rates too.
