Here’s a bit of info about the Arc of the Piedmont and it’s history: The Arc of the Piedmont is a non-profit organization committed to ensuring full community inclusion and participation of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the provision of services and advocacy in Charlottesville and the surrounding counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson. The Arc of the Piedmont was founded in 1954 when a group of parents and friends of people with disabilities came together to support each other, and The Arc is still working just as diligently to ensure access to the full range of human and civil rights for people with disabilities.
