What made you choose Charlottesville?
Michael grew up here, and I went to undergrad here. As they say, Charlottesville is the hook that keeps you in its grip, and so though we knew we wanted a home with property on which our family could grow, we also knew our deal breaker was that we couldn’t leave the greater Charlottesville area.
How did you discover the neighborhood (where you eventually ended up buying), and what do you love about it?
We’d been searching for a farm property casually for about a year or two, off and on, so Zillow had become our best friend — until Josh popped onto the scene and actually started taking us to these places 😉
What was your experience like working with the Sasha Farmer Team?
The whole team was really wonderful to work with. Josh patiently took us to properties all over the county and surrounding areas, and then walked us through the actual buying process with clear — and quick! — communication. He definitely felt like our advocate throughout the process, and Sasha, too, stepped in in a wonderful way when some hiccups threatened to derail the deal.
What was your journey like buying/selling your home?
A whirlwind! We found the home on Zillow after it was already in a bidding war, so we had to decide fast if we wanted to throw our hat in the ring. As the super-cautious, don’t-love-something-until-I’ve-really-pondered-it type, the whole adventure really knocked me off my feet. We ended up winning the bid, and our previous home was sold within a week!
What was the most stressful part of the real estate process?
Can I kindly say dealing with the realtor on the other end of the deal? The lack of, and inaccuracy of, communication on that side really stalled things and made us feel super grateful for the Sasha Farmer Team. Not only did they provide a foil to that experience, but they really advocated for us in big ways to seal the deal.
What was the best part of your real estate process?
Knowing we had a realtor who would do what it took to take care of us. He answered our emergency calls while on vacation, and though I’m not surmising this happens in every case, even helped us move in on the big day!
