About Me
Shelly graduated from Longwood College with a BA in English and Education and did her graduate study at UVA in Teaching. Prior to moving to Charlottesville, she taught high school English at Randolph Macon Academy. Shelly is married 22 years to her college sweetheart Jim, who is an intelligence analyst and Army officer. They have 2 sons, Jack and Owen. Jack is in the MESA academy at Albemarle High and plays soccer and rowing. Owen is at Woodbrook Elem and plays football and lacrosse. The family recently adopted a 6-year-old retired grand champion Weimaraner named Trump. In her free time, Shelly enjoys traveling, reading, golfing (even though she drives the cart better than she plays), visiting local wineries, and volunteering at her sons’ schools in both the classroom and library. She can routinely be found Friday mornings at Bodo’s before dropping her sons off at school.

- Fun Facts: Shelly grew up in Stuarts Draft and has farmland in Augusta County that has been in her family since the 1800s. In 2004, she planted a vineyard on a couple of the acres.
