Where were you living prior to Charlottesville and how did you begin the house hunting process?
We were living in Charlottesville prior to our move. Russ attended the University of Virginia and never left. I came here first in 2006, after college, for 4 years, spent 2 years on the West Coast, and made it back home to Charlottesville in 2012.
What made you choose Charlottesville ?
Charlottesville is Home. We love the small town vibe but with big city culture. The food, the art, the music, and the people make this a community that we are proud to be a part of.
How did you discover the neighborhood (where you eventually ended up buying), and what do you love about it?
While we ideally wanted to stay in Cville city limits, we could not shake the appeal of Keswick. The space and a neighborhood like Glenmore was ideal for us, with a new baby and two large dogs. This house gave us the room we so desperately needed and the ability to expand our family without hesitation. The neighborhood was, and continues to be, very welcoming and supportive of our growing family, dogs included! We love the proximity of the pool and the walking paths, as well as the stunning views Keswick has to offer.
What was your experience like working with the Story House Real Estate Team?
The experience working with the Story House Team was quite frankly impressive. Our agent, Errin, was patient with us while we explored house after house, until we found the right one, all the while maintaining a positive attitude and a sharp sense of humor, which is crucial in this process! The rest of the team was a joy to work with as well- incredibly friendly, yet always professional, and remarkably thorough and responsive.
What was your journey like buying/selling your home?
Journey is the right word for it! My husband, Russ, had been through the process of buying a home before and he knew what to expect. I, on the other hand, was new to this. There was not a question (and believe me, I had many) left unanswered by Errin and the team, nor a box left unchecked. They were all quick to respond and happy to educate me on this process. We felt very confident, secure, and heard throughout the entire transaction.
What was the most stressful part of the real estate process?
Managing the sale of our previous house and the purchase of a new home simultaneously. However, this didn’t phase the Sasha Farmer folks in the least. In fact, they thrived on it and didn’t disappoint us in either transaction.
What was the best part of your real estate process?
Closing! What a relief. I also very much appreciated that the process didn’t stop at closing. I was very impressed with the immediate help and guidance that the Story House Team provided to us after closing. From the lovely housewarming gifts and recommendations, to the consistent check ins by the team to see how we were doing, I have remained very impressed and thankful and would recommend the Sasha Farmer Team highly.
